The Heirloom Story
Heirloom was born of a dream. Its founders James and Alla had lived in Europe for a number of years, including the beautiful region of Tuscany in northern Italy, and in the picturesque region of the Cotswolds Hills of England.
During their time in Europe, they experienced the rich legacy of the artisans of the Renaissance, both in the museums and châteaux of the various countries so long associated with beautiful artefacts. They were truly inspired by the culture, by the history, by the art of those bygone centuries; and desired to share these secret treasures with others who appreciated their beauty and decorative value.
On their return to California in 1993, the opportunity arose to distribute beautiful tapestries from the finest craftsmen in the traditional weaving centres of Europe, they knew instinctively that this was the fulfilment of their inspiration.
The Heirloom Experience
Today, nearly a quarter of a century on, Heirloom has become the longest established brand of fine Tapestries in the United States. Situated in northern California, amidst the tranquil pine forests at the foothills of the world famous Sierra Nevada, Heirloom is still family owned and managed, and retains its original core values of integrity, fine quality and personal service.
Since 1993, we have provided our tapestry expertise to literally thousands of Americans from coast to coast. It’s been our privilege in our capacity as tapestry décor advisers to help home owners, designers, office managers, doctors, restaurateurs, hotel owners, film set designers and multitudes of other people achieve beautiful interiors.
