Our designs combine two parallel histories: we take the finest tapestry traditions from Old Europe circa 1650- 1850, and our inspiration from New America, circa the same period 1650-1850. The result is a rich and colorful hand woven panorama of our history and cultural life, from the early treasures of American Folk Art crafted mostly by European settlers, to early Colonial and succeeding Federal styles based on the English ‘Robert Adams’ classics modified, and last to the west coast pioneers , all of course to suit the needs of our New World. And we capture the heart and spirit of America with dynamic portrayals of selected American historical sites and motifs from New Englands’ Covered Bridges, to Mount Vernon, Yosemite , Washington and Yale College.

Combining history, art and the weavers craft, our American Heritage Tapestries are hand-woven with 100% New Zealand wool in Certified Limited Editions – only 100 of each design will ever be woven (view larger sample certificate). Each tapestry will bear the artists and weavers mark – H*E*T , in the lower right selvedge corner- in the tradition of antique tapestries.
